About The Festival

Sadly, the 2021 Romsey Festival of Youth Music has also been cancelled because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

The closure of schools again means that it will not be possible to rehearse ensembles, etc., in time for the Festival if it had been safe to go ahead at that time.

We will return in 2022 to showcase the talented young musicians from across the region.

The Festival is staged at venues across Romsey during the last week of June and first week of July and celebrates the high-quality music-making being produced by the young people from the town and surrounding areas.

Romsey Abbey, Mottisfont Abbey, the Memorial Park and the Lantern Theatre are amongst the settings for the concerts, as well as local schools and churches.

Highlights of next year’s Festival will be a concert with the band of HM Royal Marines Band and musicians from local schools, the annual Schools Choirs Festival, Live in the Town and the Live Lounge.
