The first Festival included ‘Jazz in the Town’, the Pianothon, Music @ Mottisfont, Summer Concerts, the String Spectacular and the HM Royal Marines Band.
The 2017 Festival
One of the highlights of the 2017 Festival was the concert with members of HM Royal Marines Band and musicians from The Romsey School and The Mountbatten School.
The 2018 Festival was launched at a small reception at King Johns House in Romsey. The excellent Mountbatten Sax Quartet entertained guests following a few words about this year’s Festival from Stu Marchant, one of the Festival Directors of Music.
Those present included Romsey MP, Caroline Nokes, who expressed her support for the festival and the importance of music in young people’s lives.
Other guests included the Head of Music from Romsey School, local councillors, the Festival Committee, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Romsey Festival, and the organiser of the Schools Choir Festival, Roger Kitsell.
